After learning about beavers during morning discovery the class was excited to try to make their own beaver dam and lodge during our extended play block at the end of the day. The kids revisited the concepts they learned almost daily for three weeks. Each time they deepened their learning and understanding of all that went into beavers creating and living in their habitats. They collaborated to share their ideas and build their creations which also deepened their problem-solving skills!

Evolving Play Areas
Throughout the year areas of play periodically change based on student interest and connections to curriculum. I'm always looking for ways to deepen their understanding of concepts and to help them to make meaningful connections. Everything is very intentionally selected and designed to encourage their creativity, questioning and exploring- all while allowing them to do the important work of a child and play!
